Third Quarter Book Recommendation 2021

Four times a year, at the end of each quarter, I consider all the books I've read over those three months and offer my recommendation for one book I would suggest you try.
Not merely sticking to my favourite, but more in terms of which I would consider a good all-rounder for a broader audience.

In the third quarter of 2021, I read 7 books.

From those books here is my pick of the bunch.
Lightning by Dean R Koontz

“Emotional excitement”

Koonts is commonly listed as a horror writer, but I’ve never really agreed with that moniker. To my mind, he writes ‘intensity’ novels, or at least he would if that were a genre.

Amongst very stiff competition I chose Lightning for this quarter’s recommendation because it’s a beautifully crafted book, with an intricately woven story, wrapped around quite a simple premise. It’s an action-packed journey but is also peppered with deep emotion. This book has everything a reader could want. You owe it to yourself to give this one a try.

Lightning by Dean R Koontz is probably one of his best works and a constant reader favourite.
